Notre Dame has been educating future journalists for more than a century. Today, the John W. Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy — which is open to undergraduates of any major across the University—continues the tradition of preparing students for careers in all forms of contemporary news media.

Our courses cover the craft of journalism — everything from ethics to multimedia reporting. Our faculty members bring a real-world knowledge of journalism gained through their collective experience reporting and commenting on current and public affairs. Our internships offer newsroom experience that complements what's learned in the classroom and teaches journalistic lessons in a different way.
